OneMind Dogs currently uses almost 30 handling techniques. Amazingly, the first 20, the basic techniques, are purely natural reactions by the dog to the handlers' cues. The rest of the techniques need to be taught to the dog. That is why we call them advanced techniques.
The individual handling techniques have been clearly named to make it easier to teach our students. All handling techniques consist of combinations of all the different elements of handling: movement, position, chest laser, contact, feet, hands and verbal commands. The core rule is that the handler should be consistent with the training and never give mixed signals to the dog.
There is an educational video of most of the handling techniques on our website. Check out also the Next Level online seminar series for more information about the techniques!
