When Katelyn is handling, she loves to push herself in each training session. “I'm constantly looking into skills we don't yet have and trying to build them so I can be the best possible partner for my dog. My favorite techniques are those that put me ahead of the dog and force me to work as hard as the dog. I like to look at each run as an opportunity to improve to the next level for my dogs and I as a team,” she says.
As a coach, Katelyn loves to show people that they can do things they originally thought were impossible. “I don't believe in the words "can't" and "try" and always show the handler how they CAN do it! I want to show each team how to believe in their potential like I believe in them. “
“I don't mind working with people of all types, (just for fun or world team dreams) because each team can work to be their best, and I don't stop until both the dog and the handler are happy on the course.”
Katelyn’s favorite things to teach are the advanced techniques, letting people see the skills that get them through courses they never thought possible due to restrictions in their running or mental game.
Katelyn has been in the world of agility from a very young age, and though agility has evolved a lot in that time, and she’s still young, she works hard every day to continue learning. Reason? “So that I can be the best possible coach for any team that comes through the door.”
