As a handler, Jen loves to push herself and her dog to be the best. “My passion is in training skills on my dogs that will get us the most competitive edge. I also like to push myself as a dog trainer and handler,” Jen says.
“I am always looking at different ways to do something. I love the look on my dogs’ faces when they learn something. They get just as excited as I do!”
“Every time I watch a great agility run I am reminded how important a balance of handling skills, obstacle skills and timing is in our sport. I feel my job as a coach is to give each team I work with a great foundation in techniques, obstacle performance as well as coaching them to achieve their goals.”
Jen likes working with dogs of all ages, but she really enjoys working with puppies. “They are blank slates and it's just so much fun to watch them learn, but even better to watch their handlers get so excited with each success!”
Jen says her directness coupled with her sense of humor makes her classes and lessons an enjoyable and educational place to be. “I push my students as hard as I push myself. I love open communication and enjoy discussing all aspects of dog behavior, dog training and handling with my students.”
“I love the challenge that we bring each other each week. It inspires me to do better as a instructor knowing that my students trust me with their futures.”
“I think the biggest challenge in this sport is trust. Each day I do my best to trust my dog, trust my training and above all trust myself.”
