Angela McRae

star OneMind Dogs Assistant Coach

Angela teaches weekly agility and obedience classes at McCann Professional Dog Trainers. Prior to being involved with dog sports, she competed quite extensively with horses. This background knowledge has proved to be helpful with dog training.

Angela got involved in agility in 2008, when she had a busy Australian Shepherd that wanted a job. “Nearly ten years later - I am hooked on the sport. I now have a second Australian Shepherd that I compete with and both of these dogs have taught me valuable lessons. I also have a young Border Collie puppy and I am looking forward to continuing to grow as a dog trainer and handler.”

When Angela is handling, she likes to run aggressively and be ahead of her dogs. She always tries to utilize techniques that enhance her dogs’ performance. She enjoys the process of training and always tries to push herself to be a better handler.

As a coach, Angela really enjoys helping people learn about the sport of agility: “Watching new handlers start to connect with their dogs and become a team is so exciting.”

Angela’s favourite thing is when handlers start putting sequences together. “It's very exciting to be a part of that. I am fun-loving and energetic and have a great time teaching others that are becoming passionate about the sport!”
