"One Year Anniversary"

We have received many lovely stories of people experiencing OneMind Moments. Let's hear another story!

We at OneMind Dogs love seeing our students learn and realize something that helps them along their journey in agility. That's why we want to share with you stories about people having their OneMind Moments, eye opening moments when they have realized something very important about agility.

Let's hear the story by one of our Premium members:

"Tomorrow is my one year anniversary with OneMind Dogs, and to celebrate I watched the video Running on the Dog’s Line. When I saw this video for the first time, I was blown away. I felt such a rush of excitement to see a completely new way of handling and learning all set out so clearly and in such a fun way. The music would bounce around my head all day long!

At that time I had one nine year old dog that had back problems and a one year old dog that was very insecure in its personality with low drive. I was retiring my nine year old dog and felt that I shouldn’t teach her the new techniques because it might be hard on her and make her confused. After all, what was the point, when I was retiring her anyway? Well, I soon changed my mind, and at first there was a little struggle getting her to pass behind me (I had taught her never to do that), but soon she caught on, and she became very excited about learning the new things. I had not tried to teach her anything completely new in a long time, and she just loved it!! Because she is an experienced dog, she became my OneMind Dogs teacher, and it has given her (now at ten) a new lease on life. She is more excited about agility than she has ever been, and she always loved it.

My new dog, now two years old, was a challenge for me. I have had terriers who are high drive and very obstacle focused, and now I have a young dog that is very handler focused, insecure and too slow, and he didn’t seem to enjoy his training sessions. Well, over the last year he has really changed. I still work to increase his speed, but he started competing, and in the last year has had a qualifying rate of nearly 100% at the intermediate level. We don’t always place first because he still needs to speed up, but that will come. When we go to our field to practice, he can’t wait to get started, and he has shown no stress in the ring and no obstacle fears at all.

This last year has been a real joy learning the OneMind Dogs techniques. I dream of traveling to Finland one day to meet all my heroes.

Thank you so much to all the OneMind Dogs Coaches!"
